CanvasRebel on Building The Company

Alright, Kristin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?
Thank you Sarah for the invite; it is an honor and a pleasure to be here with you. When we first started the company, it took a while for us to recruit and build up talents. At first we reached out to talents that had previous experience in the industry that we knew personally; we also asked our supporters to send us any referrals. Consistency and follow-up were key, and also having a fresh caring community to move to was integral as well. I would definitely say that choosing where you go is just as important as choosing internal culture and the vision of a company.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Of course! I am the founder of a talent agency called Influencer Union. The company was started in 2020, and it was originally named with the idea of there needing to be a union for freelance creators and talents in the industry. Although the company ultimately did not choose to unionize, we still pride ourselves on being a safe community for creators! Today, IU mostly focuses on the livestreaming industry, however we have done work in (and have plans for) the brand-side of things. Our talents range from DJ’s to musicians to gamers, many of which do still perform regularly in their local area.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
The 2 things that helped build Influencer Union’s reputation in the market is time and consistency. In terms of time spent, we spend a lot of time investing in our talents and setting them up for success when we introduce them to an app. We also offer several monthly events to further help talents hit their personal goals. In addition to this, we remain consistent in our overall vision for the company. We aim to always be a safe place for creatives and content creators, and we hope to be a stepping-stone and marketing tool in the careers of many.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best new source of clients for us is word of mouth and referrals. If you think that you or someone you know would like to give livestreaming a try, feel free to reach out! To learn more give us a follow @influenceruc or on our website www.influencerunion.org
